Utilizing Epic, Rover, and MyChart
Our newest COVID Vaccination Megacenter opened in the former Lord & Taylor department store in Bridgewater Commons Mall on December 15th, 2021. There were lines of walk-ins wrapping around the sides of the building waiting for the center to open.
The new vaccination center offers dose 1, dose 2, dose 3 (immunocompromised), and booster vaccines to individuals age five and older. Our new site also offers a choice of the Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Epic in Use: For the first time since the start of the pandemic, RWJBH Vaccine Megacenter appointments and patient information will be entered into our Epic system. Vaccines will be scheduled via MyChart and recipients will have digital proof of their immunization status right on their cell phone.
With the MyChart app, they will have the opportunity to schedule future appointments with RWJBH and import medical records from other healthcare organizations. We will also be leveraging Rover in the adult and pediatric treatment areas to help make the administration process safe and mobile.
“Members of Epic Together team joined staff from across the RWJBH enterprise to make this Megacenter a reality,” said Jordan Ruch VP & Chief Innovation Officer. “Their hard work and dedication are what this project is all about — going above and beyond for our patients, our communities, and each other.”
