Sepsis Alert Best Practice Advisory (BPA):
- The Sepsis Alert BPA will fire for clinicians [MD/DO/APP/RN] once criteria are met [inclusion/exclusion, at least 2 of the modified SIRS criteria, and at least one of the organ dysfunction criteria], upon opening the patient’s chart in Hyperspace or while the clinician had the chart already open, and a qualifying lab result is entered, or a qualifying VS is documented.
- Reminder: There is currently no push alert to a mobile device, such as Vocera.
- Sepsis is a leading cause of death in hospitals; therefore, you need to pay attention to the Sepsis Alert BPA.
